Honorable Minister Raaj Kumar Anand's life has been full of struggles. Due to poverty, his parents had to send him to his maternal grandparents in Aligarh. Where his maternal grandfather was a ragman. His financial condition was not that good so that he could educate his grandson. To complete his early education, Mr Anand had to work as a child laborer in a lock factory in Aligarh. Further he completed his M.A. by giving tuition. From making pillows by using discarded foam from factories to becoming a successful businessman in Rexine Leather, Mr Anand’s journey may appear to be an easy and simple, but in reality it has gone through many difficulties and ups and downs.

Social Work

Mr. Anand's contribution in the field of social service has also been commendable. He, along with some of his colleagues, formed the 'Anandpath Path Foundation' for the betterment of the underprivileged people. Under this intiaitive, many tuition centers were also started in slum areas with the name of 'Dr. Ambedkar Pathshala'. To make loan process hassle free for underprivileged, he created another organization SCOTIC, which basically helps in getting loans by establishing a dialogue between the bank and the borrowers. Stepping into politics Mr. Anand actively participated in the movement 'India Against Corruption' in 2011. Where he was greatly influenced by Shri Arvind Kejriwal and his vision, "If politics changes, the country will change.” Further, he joined Aam Aadmi Party to be a part of positive politics. Work done as MLA Mr. Anand elected as MLA in 2020 from Patel Nagar Assembly in Delhi. It has been almost three years since Mr. Anand became the MLA. In this short period, he has done excellent work in every area of his assembly like education, health, electricity, water, roads, drains, sewer etc. During Covid pandemic, Mr. Anand became covid positive twice but kept helping the people during that difficult times. When there was a shortage of oxygen beds in Delhi, he built a 'Covid Care Center' with 40 oxygen beds in Patel Nagar by importing oxygen concentrators from China, which saved many lives. Work done as cabinet minister. On 3rd November 2022, Mr. Anand joined the Delhi cabinet. Where he is doing his duties with great honesty and hard work.
