| 20.9.2002 MEMORANDUM Under Rule 16(3) of the Delhi Standards of Weights & Measures (Enforcement) Rules 1988 it has been provided that:- “On completion of verification and stamping, the inspector shall issue a certificate of Verification in the form set out in Schedule-XI”. In this regard, it has come to my notice that in a few cases the Verification Certificate are being prepared in the hand writing of the concerned repairer/ or person other than employees of the Department and signed by Inspector. This practice is not only against the spirit of the rules but also gives scope for manipulation of details contained in the original VC after the inspector has issued the same to the concerned person. It is now ordered that all the V.Cs shall be issued only after the same is prepared either by Inspector or any authorized employee of the department (Subject to the condition that if writing is of other than inspector the concerned employee shall write his/her name and Designation below the name and seal of inspector). All the inspectors are hereby directed to follow these instructions scrupulously. Any deviation from these instructions shall be viewed seriously and shall invite disciplinary proceedings. Sd/- (G.C.
