Gender Resource Centre Cell

The Gender Resource Centre Project, which is a Programme for Women Empowerment, was initiated in the Year 2001 by this Department. It is now under the administrative control of ‘Samajik Suvidha Sangam Society’ (Mission Convergence), which has its Head Office at Delhi Secretariat.

The ‘Samajik Suvidha Sangam Society’ (Mission Convergence) was formed in the year 2008, to facilitate the delivery of Welfare entitlements to the vulnerable sections of the society through a single window delivery system. The Gender Resource Centers set up under the Bhagidari Programme have been identified as the operating structure for Mission Convergence at the Community level.

The Mission Convergence/ Samajik Suvidha Sangam Society invites applications from Voluntary Organizations/ NGOs to partner in its initiative to reach out to the poor and vulnerable and empower these communities to help them receive timely services offered by different Departments. Currently, 80 GRCs are functional in 10 Districts of Delhi.

The GRC Project is a Plan Scheme of the Department of Women and Child Development under the Administrative Control of Mission Convergence. The funds for implementation of the scheme are allocated to the Department of Women and Child Development, which releases it to Samajik Suvidha Sangam Society, to be further released to the implementing NGO partners
