4. DIPLOMA COURSES OFFERED AT OUR POLYTECHNICS/INSTITUTES OF

TECHNOLOGY:

There are 12 Government Institutes of Technology/Polytechnics running diploma level courses affiliated to Board of Technical Education under Department of Training & Technical Education, out of which 2 are exclusively for girls and 10 are co-educational Polytechnics/Institutes. Courses offered in the Govt. Polytechnics/Institutes are Full Time Diploma Courses & Part Time Diploma Courses. Besides Government polytechnics/Institutes, Diploma Courses are also offered at two Govt. Aided Institutes & 7 Privately Managed BTE affiliated Institutes.

The candidate should have passed 10th class of 10+2 System or Matric or any other examination recognized as equivalent to 10th class examination, conducted by CBSE. with minimum 35% aggregate in Science, Mathematics & English. The subjects Science, Mathematics and English are compulsory and the candidate should have passed in each of these three subjects

Note:

1. Candidates passing /qualifying class 10th under the grading system should have obtained minimum pass grade in the compulsory subjects i.e., Science, Mathematics and English.

2. Any other criteria as prescribed by CBSE in new pattern.

For candidates applying for

Diploma in Modern Office Practice (English)

The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including English. The subject English is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (English) and the candidate should have obtained pass marks in this subject.



For candidates applying for

Diploma in Modern Office Practice (Hindi)

The candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi in any stream of 10+2 (Academic) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of best three subjects including Hindi/Sanskrit. The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (Hindi).

For candidates applying for

Diploma in Pharmacy

The candidate should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class-XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to the Senior Secondary School Certificate exam of the CBSE with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & either Biology or Mathematics .The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have pass marks in these subjects. As per directions issued by the Pharmacy Council of India vide their letter No. 14-2/2007-PCI-13143, dated 27.12.2007, the candidates who have appeared/passed through National Institute of Open Schooling shall not be considered for admission.

Note: Eligibility for students passed from NIOS / Distance Education will be as per decision of Hon’ble Court / Delhi Government.

Lateral entry in second year diploma course

For admission of 10+2 Vocational Engg. Stream pass outs / ITI pass outs against 10% supernumerary seats in analogous disciplines of Architectural Assistantship, Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering (Digital Electronics), Electronics Engineering (Medical Electronics), Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Engineering), - (Polymer Technology, Production Engineering and Civil Engineering, (Public Health & Environmental Engineering), Information Technology Enabled Services & Management (ITES &M) Tools & Die making.

The candidate should have passed analogous 12th Vocational (Engg) stream of CBSE or equivalent from Schools located only in Delhi with minimum 60% marks in aggregate of best five subjects for which marks are reflected in the mark sheet.

OR

Passed 10th class of CBSE or equivalent + 2 years ITI(Engg) from ITI s/ITCs. The ITI s/ ITCs must be from Institutes locatedonly in Delhi and affiliated to DGE&T/BTE, Delhi with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects reflected in the mark sheet.

10. SCHOLARSHIP

14. Launch of B. Voc. Programmes in 9 Govt. Institutes of Technology under the aegis of Directorate of Training & Technical Education.

Bachelor of Vocational (B. Voc.) programmes, affiliated to GGSIPU has been launched in 9 Govt. Institute of Technology under the aegis of Directorate of Training & Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi from the academic year 2015-16. B. Voc. is a new skill based under graduate level degree programme. This Programme is being launched as a Pilot Project in the following highly demanding sectors:

Total 950 seats have been created in B. Voc. Courses for the students of Delhi to get an opportunity to take admission in skill based education programme under a University system

D. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTES (ITIs OFFERING CERTIFICATE LEVEL COURSES)

Department offers formal vocational training either by National Council for Vocational Education (NCVT) or by State Council for Vocational Education (SCVT) through 17 Government ITIs, 0I (one)Extension centre and a Multi Sectorial Development Project (MSDP) center running at the campus of ITI Nand Nagri.

To encourage enrolment of girls student, there are 4 (four) Government ITIs, 01 (one) Extension centre exclusively for women and Multi Sectorial Development Project (MSDP) center running at the campus of ITI Nand Nagri and 30% seats of all co-educational ITIs are reserved for girls. In addition, the girl’s are exempted from paying fee of training except caution money (refundable) and pupil’s fund contribution.

Entry level in ITIs varies from minimum eligibility of 8th class to 10th class pass. Admission to the ITIs is based on the merit of qualifying examination.

The subject Hindi/Sanskrit is compulsory for Modern Office Practice (Hindi) and the candidate should have Pass marks in this subject without considering grace marks.

For candidates applying for Pharmacy

Class-XII or any other examination recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to class12th exam of the CBSE with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics,

Chemistry & either Biology or Mathematics .The subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology are compulsory and the candidate should have pass marks in these subjects without considering grace marks. As per

directions issued by the Pharmacy Council of India vide their letter No.

14-2/2007-PCI-13143, dated 27.12.2007, the candidates who have appeared/passed through National Institute of Open Schooling shall not be considered for admission.

Note: Eligibility for students passed from NIOS / Distance Education will be as per decision of Hon’ble Court / Delhi Government.

D. APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME
About Dy. Apprentice office

The Deputy Apprenticeship Adviser’s office is working under direct control of Department of Training& Technical Education, Delhi and is responsible for monitoring of implementation of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme under the Apprenticeship Training Act, 1961, (amended time to time) in respect of trade apprentices of Delhi Government Undertakings / Departments and Private Establishments in Delhi.

The major role of the Deputy Apprenticeship Adviser’s office is as under:

  1. To Assist, co-ordinate and regulate programs in State public and private sector industries.
  2. To liaise with Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training and Industries.
  3. To collect information on-line, about the organizations registered for imparting Apprenticeship Training in their organization.
  4. To disseminate the information about the vacancies among the candidates through SMS or through website or any other electronic means.
  5. To help the candidates in registration for Apprenticeship Training on website.
  6. To encourage Industries of Delhi to register under the Apprenticeship Training Act for training of our young generation.
  7. To conduct the Examinations of Apprentices at the end of the training.
  8. Declaration of exam result.
  9. Verification of candidates to industries.

10. STATE/CENTRALLY SPONSORED SCHEMES BEING RUN IN VARIOUS POLYTECHNICS/I UNDER THIS DEPARTMENT

1. Technical Education Community Outreach Scheme (TECOS) under financial assistance of GNCTD is successfully running under the aegis of department with an aim to upgrade the livelihood skills of the under privileged sector i.e. school dropouts etc. This scheme has been framed to bring these target people into mainstream of technical education services. The main objective of the scheme is to provide meaningful and qualitative training in consultation with technically qualified faculty/ staff of ITI.

2. Scheme of Community Development through Institutes of Technologies (polytechnics) under the financial assistance of MHRD. The objectives of CDTP scheme is to provide meaningful and qualitative non-formal training to rural youth, women, school dropouts, SC/ST and other weaker group of society, in consultation with qualified faculty/ staff of the Institute of Technologies (Polytechnics). The training is made under the supervision of Principal of the Institute of Technologies (Polytechnics).

V. TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL OF THE DEPARTMENT

VI. This branch deals with the matters related to policy formation for T & P activities for Polytechnic students. This cell also forms link between employers of different industries looking for trained manpower from Polytechnics. This cell provides data of students seeking employment to the employers.

VII. Job Fairs

In view of providing platform for both the industries and the final year Diploma/Degree level Students to interact with each other, this Department has been organizing Job Fair. Beside, the assistance is provided to the final year students in this respect at college level.
